Site Work Construction
In the 1930's, the company's founders were principally highway and bridge builders. The largest project completed then is now known as Route 22. Today, we provide site work and paving services to the industrial marketplace. We've cleared, graded, curbed, piped, planted and paved diverse projects from corporate headquarters to seaport cargo areas. Along the way, we've completed park jogging trails, replanted swamps to create wetlands and paved the US 1&9 and I-78 entrance roads into Newark Airport. Call us, we do more than pipe work.
The Napp-Grecco Company is founded.
Since its founding in 1944, the company has been dedicated to quality work at a competitive price.
In 1947, we pioneered the use of welded steel pipe for gas distribution systems. Since then, we've installed thousands of miles of gas mains and services for Public Service Gas, Brooklyn Union, Elizabethtown and New Jersey Natural. And for more than seventy years, we've constructed underground electric systems and high voltage oilstatic lines for Public Service Electric. And we've installed numerous manhole and conduit systems for New Jersey Bell. Our commitment to the utility industry is unmatched by our competition.
Foundations & Structures
In 1947 Napp-Grecco built the Stickel Bridge Helix in Newark, which is now Exit 15 on Route I-280. Today, our capabilities are focused primarily on concrete foundations and structures. Let us build your next petroleum tank foundation, electrical substation or process plant foundation, as well as construct your next pre-egineered building. Our abilities are growing in this area and compliment our other services to produce comprehensive, coordinated construction projects.
We installed our first cross-country pipeline - the 55 mile Trenton-Woodbury Line.
Since our first liquid pipeline system for Colonial Pipeline in 1964, we have grown to offer complete refinery and tank farm services from the tank nozzle through to the loading rack. We've constructed major operating systems for Amerada-Hess, BP, Buckeye, Chevron, Coastal, Colonial, Exxon, GATX, IMTT, Mobile, Northville, SOHIO and Sun. Our Services are diversified, from a Praxair ultra-clean oxygen system to a state -of-the-art compressed natural gas vehicle refueling system.
Newark Asphalt Corporation was founded in 1965 to manufacture bituminous asphalt paving materials. Now it's New Jersey's premier manufacturer of quality asphalt from specialty bridge deck mixes to shock absorbent asphalt for athletic facilities. And when recycling was in its infancy, we erected our granulation unit to reprocess old asphalt into new base mix. Our new soils separation plant transforms bulk pavement and excavation into road stone, pipe padding and a top soil base stock. We never apologize for the quality because we make it perfect every time!
Landfill Gas Collection Systems
In 1982, we expanded into Landfill Gas Recovery and have completed systems for Air Products from vertical wells to the thermal oxidizer.
